Step 1 – Check If A Centrifugal Pump Can Spin Freely

To check this, lock out the centrifugal pump and remove the coupling guard and shaft. You can spin it by hand and listen carefully if there’s any rubbing noise coming out from the pump.

  • The pump and its parts should be lubricated properly.
  • The starting frequency of the centrifugal pump shouldn’t exceed 12 times/hour.
